"Emily, you are dreaming"

I have lucid dreams fairly frequently, but in no way am I an expert on the activity. That being said, I had a lucid dream while napping today and was wondering if anyone had any input.

The first part was not lucid...

I found myself in an obviously high-class restaurant located in an old building. Several friends were present and unaware of the danger I sensed from the owner. He looked different -- he was very clear. When my subconscious places people in my dreams I usually don't see them clearly; I am merely aware of who they are and what they are doing. Their image is comparable to a peripheral view.

He was also someone I have never met before -- another reason I found it odd that I saw every feature so clearly. He was in his late 60's with with sparse, shoulder length, white hair. Slightly overweight but tall. He wore an off-white sports coat with matching slacks and a windsor blue collar shirt that was unbuttoned at the neck. He carried a black cane and was followed by an unclear, hunched minion. He would walk into the room, stop, stare directly into my eyes, smirk, and turn to walk out of the room. It made me more than uneasy. I tried to escape the restaurant and found myself trapped. Scared and defeated, I walked back to the bar and sat down. Everyone was gone.

Then I heard a harmless chuckle from the other end of the bar. For the first time, I noticed a bartender wiping a glass with a rag. He, too, was very distinct although I know I have never met this person. Angry, I demanded an explanation.

"Emily," he said with a gentle smile, "you are dreaming."

"...Oh."

He laughed again. I changed the crimson wall color to a sage green to make sure I had control, then relaxed.

That's when the owner returned looking peeved. I willed him away, but instead of just simply disappearing, he turned slowly, maintaining eye contact as long as possible, and walked up the stairs. When I turned back to the bartender, he looked worried.

"Please be careful of him."

I asked him if he was a part of my subconscious and he laughed again. He said no, and began to explain his presence to me when my boyfriend woke me up.

As I said, I have lucid dreams frequently, but never have I experienced presences like this (except for when my grandpa's visit shortly after his death).

Any ideas?

    Don't be so Egotistic! *jokingly*
You're not the only one floating around those realms!

yes, its not just 'you' in your 'dreams'

certainly a caution, warning you of someone in your physical life or even someone that simply visits from the spiritual world...

thats quite common. i've met or encountered people in my lucid dreams that gave off a baaad vibe. when i am around them it seems at times as if they are challenging my lucidity. sometimes i am even powerless around them.

well whats your input Emily, do you believe this man actually existed withn your dream realm? or how about the bartender?

i was always kind of skeptical when i would meet people in my dreams. I would have a tug of war in my mind > "well they seem just as real as any other person i've ever met"

it wasn't until i met my dream guide that i really started to believe. then meeting and talking with einstein was out of this world.

next time try to go back to that bar or engage in deeper conversation with that bartender- he seemed to know you better in the dream realm than you though you knew yourself.

        imagine what else he knows?

maybe he could be your dream guide - i mean he was there in your time of need...
