this is probably one of the most amazing lucis dreams i have ever had.
i find myself sitting cross legged on the floor. nothing special.
then i realize im dreaming.
first thought to come to my head is
" wow, i wonder if i could levitate right now"
BAM! i lift off the ground about two feet...
truly wonderful :)
i awoke right after that with a big smile on my face
and a feeling of utter bliss.
this was about two years ago, and i still remember it like it
was yesterday...

Re: Levitation
Tue, September 25, 2007 - 4:19 PMYes, that certainly is wonderful!
Some of my best dreams were where I levitated, then began to rise above people who were trying to harm me in my dream.

Re: Levitation
Thu, November 15, 2007 - 8:50 AMYes, that happened to me once. I think that lucid dreaming is pre out of body travelling activity. I was in Senegal for eight weeks and my dream life just exploded in my head. I was remembering six to nine dreams every night. Getting lucid all the time. During the last week of my stay, I started Levitating seemingly before I was actually asleep. What I realized is that I was falling asleep but holding on to my waking consciousness during the "falling" part so I didn't realize that I had moved from waking reality to sleeping reality. So when I started to float upwards, I was completely taken off guard. It only happened three times. I believe it was the beginning of my out of body training.
Happy dreaming !! -

Sat, November 17, 2007 - 7:42 PMlevitation is a wonderful dream feeling! I often get antigravity-type dreams where I can leap and float like I'm on the moon...great for playing basketball :) -

Re: Levitation
Sun, December 23, 2007 - 9:50 AMI remember vividly the first time I floated. I became aware that I was dreaming(this was early in my exploration of lucid states) and I was walking around in a strange appartment. I went into a room with a couch and stood up on it. I could feel my weight shifting over my toes, and when I leand forward, I could feel my balance failing. just as I was about to fall I started moving my hands in small circles at my shoulder hieght. I let myself fall forward but to my surprize, I lifted gently of the sofa and began drifting around the room. I did not wake until I had my feet firmly on the floor.
I find that many times I am flying(floating, levitating)in my dreams, and am trying the whole time to get the attention of a friend who is in the dream with me. of course, each time I try to get them to look, to see that I am flying, I fall slightly. sometimes I actually fall right out of bed upon waking because I have fallen so suddenly.
Doing some pre-flight breathing, focusing on being light and fluid helps.

Re: Levitation
Tue, January 8, 2008 - 1:56 PMThe whole reason I got into Lucid Dreaming was the flying aspect,
and it's usually the first thing that comes to mind when I become lucid.
It's simply wonderfull - my favourite LD activity.
One time I just took off to the stars... truly superb...
but most times it takes a lot of effort, or I end up bouncing around
like on the moon as mentioned earlier...
Never tried it as serenely as the original poster though, that must feel awesome too!

Re: Levitation
Tue, March 18, 2008 - 12:49 AMThe first time I was lucid, I realized I could have any physique I wanted, so I got real buff real quick. No need for a gym membership or personal trainer. Then I realized I could float up to the ceiling, so I did. I figured I'd float up through the roof and fly around town, but when I got to the ceiling I konked my head & couldn't get through. It was disappointing to find I couldn't break through even in a lucid dream. Maybe tonight I'll do it.
