The dream I had last night was very simple. I was a wide street with several lanes and cars were waiting for the light change. There was someone else with me, an older man. He hesitated in crossing the street. When I was very close to reaching the other side I looked back and he has started crossing but seemed very afraid. He finally made a go of it and the cars were approaching.. somehow they were not slowing for the man. He had trouble walking but he decided to run for it. He reached my side but was very agitated. Then suddenly he began having breathing difficulties and maybe a heart attack. He was dying.. a woman (who was not there before) was holding him while he was going through his last moments.. he didn't say anything but tried .. I remember looking straight into his eyes.. they were youthful and did not seem to belong to him.. he was very old with very white hair. At some point I got up and left and when I woke up I had the sense he had died while I was away.. Any insight? I've read before somewhere that death dreams are not necessarily bad... but this dream left me feeling guilty somehow..

Re: Death dream - help with interpretation
Mon, March 31, 2008 - 11:05 AMIt can be difficult for me to interpret given that I do not know your life circumstances, however, remember that the subconscious is speaking to you in symbology.
First: who does the man represent? (could be you?)
This person is afraid of outside circumstances, life not supporting him. It annoys him that he cant keep up with life, he feels left behind.
Life seems unfair. Victimhood.
You decided to walk away or turn away from that situation. How did you feel in the dream?
Maybe you need to step out of a pattern in your life? And let that part of you die because it is not serving you. Who has patterns of 'life is unfair' and victimhood?
Maybe you need to walk away from someone playing the victim who is draining your energy, or at least stop feeding the victim mentality, yours or someone else's.
Maybe the death symbolized an old part of the self dying or old patterns of life falling away.

Re: Death dream - help with interpretation
Mon, March 31, 2008 - 11:23 AMyes, its hard to interpret without knowing any life circumstances...
in addition to what has been said, i think feeling guilty is important...
have you been making decisions in a hurry recently? just a guess and it may not be applicable to you...
but one of many interpretations could be that, in a hurry, you might be leaving wisdom behind...

Re: Death dream - help with interpretation
Mon, March 31, 2008 - 8:43 PMOld people in dreams are often symbols of our own ancestors...maybe grandparents?
They also can represent wisdom...maybe a learning experience coming?
Ask for more guidance before going to sleep...it may help!
good luck :) -

Re: Death dream - help with interpretation
Tue, April 1, 2008 - 9:30 PMWas this a lucid dream? Or just a semi-lucid?
I ask because this is the lucid dream tribe... so I figured...
