Hi. I honestly don't remember the last time I had a nice dream. Maybe when I was a kid. For about 20 years, I've had nightmares every single night. About everything. I wake up every single morning, and just want to cry because my days are so influenced by the sadness/panic/terror I wake up from. Apparently, I talk quite often in my sleep, and sometimes sound like I'm crying, or trying to scream.
I suffer from depression and panic attacks, and am on meds. for these. I know they could be some of the problem.....but every single night, to only have nightmares??? Last night I had a nightmare that involved my boyfriend being awful to me....and I've barely been able to look at him all day, it's so hard to separate my dreams from waking life.
Do you think learning how to lucid dream might help? Does anyone in the Bay Area or Seattle have subliminal CD's, or one of those lucid-dreaming masks I can borrow?
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Gruesome nightmares. Help!
Wed, June 4, 2008 - 5:38 PMI wouldn't rely on CDs or devices, but rather try and work on your intent, attitude and beliefs regarding your ability to control things in waking life, which in turn should carry over to your dreams. You don't need to become fully lucid to change the course of a dream. Even the slightest bit of awareness or belief can help you tame the monsters. This works for me at least.
Those nightmares may be the subconscious material coming out that your meds are suppressing. If this is the case, it should be processed one way or another, and LDs or semi-LDs are one way of processing stuff. Another is experiencing unpleasant things with a positive, accepting attitude.
I don't really know what will work for you, but learning LD techniques won't hurt. LDs and semi-LDs can be very empowering.
Good luck! -

Thu, June 5, 2008 - 11:05 AMDiscreate nightmares. Best go to natural place of predilection, a park will do. do some RTRRT download. Bogeyman dreaming takes energy. Keep it simple. Do simple things. Enjoy them. You are ok on your own. Yachts and churches love you. Improvise or go to a temple by the water. Divorce., sanctify yourself. Go mad. Nothing is wrong and all is fine. Too much intrusion, keep your lonely bliss secret. Kiss/

Thu, June 5, 2008 - 12:17 PMi think lucid dreaming could be a big help to you... stephen lebarge does a lot of good books and workbooks... his website: www.lucidity.com/
it couldn't hurt to give it a try... if you can achieve lucidity during nightmares you can turn the fear around and attack and banish that which scares you... it seems like something worth looking into. -

Re: Gruesome nightmares. Help!
Fri, August 8, 2008 - 3:29 AMPlus try to go to the bottom of that. It is always better to treat the source.
Synchronicity is operative so ask the universe to send you clues and then check using feelings first and then your judgement if this is right.
You will also meet people to assist you but double check. people sometimes have their own agenda and are not always what they claim to be and that means the ones projecting as "light". Use your first feeling, not fear and then judgement for assessing people.
Going on allopathic meds for the rest of your life is damaging. I read that they have made progress but they could keep you there and damage your mind and body.
I like what goes under the general name of energetic medicine as it treats the cause.
It is a long road but one worth treading. Do it gradually. You will find yourself at the end.
Having nightmares every night seems terrible, especially for so many years... There is possibly a traumatic event at the source that you may have to recross through but minus all the emotions. Get a well-trained past life regressionist or a rebirther, someone who knows what they are doing. You can also bolster yourself with Bach Flower remedies – it is soft but effective - and similar medicine but taken physically.
I wish you courage and good luck in getting unstuck.

Re: Gruesome nightmares. Help!
Tue, August 12, 2008 - 8:40 PMI was stuck in nightmares for several years after a really hard time in my life. There was one single image that would break me out of intense nightmare states when I was in them... It was a crow. I don't know why that image would free me from intense levels of fear, but after awhile I learned to call on the crow for protection when I was trapped in a nightmare. I don't know if this would help you, but you might try to conjure a dream guardian that you could meditate on before going sleep at night. It doesn't have to be a crow, it could be any image that felt strong and safe for you. The most important thing though, I think is to remember that you are loved, no matter what, there is love and light surrounding you. Try to focus on the most blessed things in life that you can think of, stay positive and relax, take deep breaths and say to yourself "I am loved." There is always hope.
