Sometimes when I wake up in the morning to go pee, I have to really make sure I'm awake. I often wonder if I'm lucid dreaming and peeing my bed. So far, that hasn't happened, but I do experience mild alarm sometimes at the prospect.

Re: Peeing
Mon, January 14, 2008 - 12:21 PMOnce I was dreaming about visiting my grandparents, and went in to go pee. All the necessary tasks to do so, unbuttoning/zipping the fly, pulling my sweater up, etc. and just went pee. Then I wondered, "why is it pooling around my thighs?" and automatically woke up. *laughs* That's the only time I can remember ACTUALLY peeing in my sleep. Most of my dreams are like yours, Erin. Luckily it didn't actually touch the bed, so no nasty cleanups. :P -

Re: Peeing
Mon, January 14, 2008 - 6:03 PMI think peeing may be a dreamsign for some of us to recognize we are dreaming. I do reality checks when I'm peeing hoping I will recognize I am dreaming when I pee in rather unusual places in my dreams :) -

Re: Peeing
Mon, January 14, 2008 - 7:42 PMThat's a good tip, but seems a little dangerous to me. Like I said, I'd hate to be mistaken and pee the bed. A similar check happens with sex/masturbation. Sometimes I am having a sexual dream and it turns lucid, and I'm thinking, "Where is my body? Am I sleeping near anyone who could know that I'm having a sex dream? Is my body writhing around right now? Am I at my parents' house? Am I camping somewhere with lots of people?" And often, I can't conjure where exactly my body is. Funny how these details leave us.

Re: Peeing
Tue, February 5, 2008 - 10:10 PMHaha I stress about that too in sexual dreams...except my bed is empty 99% of the time anyway, so I really shouldnt worry about it. I wonder if the body is still or *ahem* writhing, during that, hey thats another topic...lucid dreamers who share a bed with someone who can observe them.. Have they found that the lucidreamer moves or acts out their dreams? Or just still, peaceful sleep? Maybe it depends on the person, because we obviously can differ...peeing the bed vs. not peeing for instance.
I love this tribe, by the way. Im glad yall are out t/here.

Re: Peeing
Fri, April 4, 2008 - 7:00 AM.. oh jeez, i know this feeling a little too well... this was an embarrassing issue for me when i was younger.. always getting up out of bed and walking to the toilet to pee, and i'd start without ever turning a light on, but i'd feel it pool around my thighs too.... which was confusing, sort of like "did i remember to pull my pants down?" ..... then i would be able to feel my two different body selves and i couldn't stop the flow, and by the time i could get control, the bed was pretty wet... but warm at least.

Re: Peeing
Mon, January 14, 2008 - 7:45 PMThat's funny, Lyra! Something similar happened to me when I was 5 or 6.
I dreamed I was visiting Louis Pasteur and he was going to give me a vaccine, but before he gave me the shot, he wanted me to pee on the toilet. He and my mom started chanting, "Pee, Erin, pee. Pee, Erin, pee." So I did. All over my dad's back.

Re: Peeing
Tue, January 15, 2008 - 9:35 AMI have immense difficulty urinating in dreams. If I have a hard time peeing, it's my sign that I'm probably asleep. -

Re: Peeing
Tue, January 15, 2008 - 9:54 AMIt's interesting that all this "peeing" talk helped me become lucid in a dream last night! A man came in one scene carrying a toilet and I thought that if I can find the bathroom I will become lucid and I did when I entered the bathroom and saw no toilet there. Dreams work in mysterious ways ;) -

Re: Peeing
Tue, January 15, 2008 - 10:55 AMyup, i've peed in my dream and it goes on and on and i'm like "why no relief" and then it really starts to feel good and.... i wake up, mortified and slightly damp. lucid dreamers tend to pee their beds more than non-lucid dreamers. nobody talks about it. its' definitely a call to do a REALITY check! i had to re-learn this when it began for me and it helped. thank god my girlfriend wasn't around that time. -

Re: Peeing
Tue, January 15, 2008 - 11:16 AMYeah, that dream was such a realistic dream, and something I used to do quite often (visiting my grandparents that is) so it seemed like it was just another of those occasions. I can remember even that the lighting in the bathroom was like early afternoon, so I didn't have to turn the lights on in the room, but it was still a little dark because of the color the walls were painted and the window faced north. I have intensely vivid dreams...

Re: Peeing
Sat, January 19, 2008 - 10:47 PMwhile do i use the able to get relief from peeing as a dream sign, and I've never had any unfortunate accidents as an adult (i think i did as a kid) I have a problem with the "urge" in my waking life. If I have to pee and I can't seem to find relief, its a sign I am too anxious and need to improve my awareness of the situation.
i wasn't aware of that statistic; what a twist! -

Re: Peeing
Mon, January 21, 2008 - 12:45 AMThis was always the problem as a child wetting my bed bcos of dreaming I was going..and did..nowadays luckily there is enough self control to not go that far..but like others said.. I cannot find fulfillment from doing so and will wake up eventually to realise I need to go...and my body was aware of that while sleeping...same with being too hot in bed..I will dream Iam trying to get cooller by taking clothes off..and also with orgasms...sometimes my body is feeling the energy and then I wake to find its not fulfilled...and want to go back to sleep to it...;0)
Also dreaming of taking an acid trips are really cool...I swear I feel that Iam when half waking... -

Re: Peeing
Mon, January 21, 2008 - 4:13 PMI've been on substances dreaming, too, and felt altered. It's neat. -

Re: Peeing
Wed, January 23, 2008 - 4:34 PMme too. Charley Tart calls these "high dreams" - or at least he did 30 years ago when he wrote "altered states of consciousness". what i think is amazing is how quickly you can switch into a dreaming "altered state" from ordinary-minded dreaming, and vice versa. consciousness really does change in an instant!
now has anyone dreamed they were tripping AND urinating? i'd like to know what that's like.

Re: Peeing
Sun, February 3, 2008 - 10:52 PMI used to be afraid of peeing in a lucid dream, but I did once, no difficulties and did NOT pee the bed...
So its possible. -

Re: Peeing
Mon, February 4, 2008 - 7:41 AMWell, if you can fly in a lucid dream and NOT fly actually, why should it be different with peeing? ;) -

Re: Peeing
Mon, March 3, 2008 - 12:42 PMI have had many "pee dreams". I have to pee, but the conditions are bad ~ can't find a place to pee, overflowing toilets, no privacy, whatever. Finally I pee anyway ~ I pee and pee, but no relief. At this point I realize that I had better wake up and go pee or I will pee in bed (I did once). -

Re: Peeing
Tue, March 11, 2008 - 6:30 AMWhen I dream of peeing, It turns sexual. I guess the feeling of having to pee gives me an erection. I always wake an dhit the toilet.

Re: Peeing
Mon, March 24, 2008 - 3:14 AMPeeing your bed is one of those things that is scary while dreaming, especially if you sleep next to someone. I have really weird dreams where I am sitting on the toilet and I have to pee, but there are so many people watching me that I can't do it, or sometimes I can, but then when I go to wipe I can't because I'm ashamed to stand up in front of all those people. This doesn't always mean that the dream is short, sometimes I am sitting throughout the entire long dream just observing the other people, their conversations, and the environment.
