A couple of questions

topic posted Fri, December 28, 2007 - 9:14 AM by  Kevin
I've recently stopped smoking pot, as it affects my ability to maintain lucidity in dreams, and I've finally been able to lucid dream with a fair amount of consistency again.

A couple of things I've been working on and wondering about are:

1) Do any of you construct a "portal" area? Usually when I'm lucid I have a fair amount of difficulty in completely changing dreamscapes, so I've been focusing on a "portal area" in the woods. Most of my dreamscapes are bordered by trees/woods and by simply venturing off into the woods, I come to my portal area. It has several stone archways that I can see other dreamscapes through, and allows me to change scapes with a bit more ease.

2) Have any of you experimented with maintaining lucidness while waking up? I've only managed to do this twice. It's a phenomenally peculiar sensation as the brain wakes up and starts accepting stimulus from the 5 senses again. Feels like my spirit is being slammed through a filter into my body.

Just wanting some input from other lucid dreamers out there. . .

    Never made a portal.

I've had occasions where the lucidity is still with me upon awakening. It's strange, especially since I have illnesses which cause pain, and I can feel the pain slowly filter back into the body.

Ive never tried "making" a portal although i have come across one. It was a two dimensional redish orange portal peacefully floating above a calm ocean. It was called "The Glory Eye of the Ticonderoga Heaven". I don't know where the hell my subconscious came up with that but it was fitting. anyway the portal was the glory eye that led to the Ticonderoga heavan. The Ticonderoga Heavan was a lucid scape, a place, not a world, a dimension just a place where lucidity was possible. Here I saw a man and a woman sitting indian position, arms and legs intertwined facing each other. They were floating..hovering over an ovalish archipelago of tiny islands just barely pertruting from the turquoise sea. the couple was circleing around these islands. the portal led to the ticonderoga heavan where lucidity was happening, and thats just what i saw.

Interesting. The first time I ever used a portal was in a nightmare where I was being chased. . .I went through a window and forced the dreamscape to change. After that, I started working on constructing the portal area: I'd draw it out in several perspectives, named it, wrote up a history of it, etc. It made it easier to find in my dreams once it was well constructed in my mind.
